What is a titanium alloy CNC machining machine tool?

At present, many machine tool manufacturers have launched high-efficiency and high-speed CNC machine tools for the cutting processing of large aluminum alloys and other light alloy materials such as HEM-HSM. However, they are obviously not suitable for manufacturing high-strength steel, stainless steel, and processing a type of high-strength and high-hardness difficult-to-machine metal materials such as titanium alloys and aviation superalloys with HEM-HSM. So, what exactly is a titanium alloy CNC machining machine tool? What are the requirements? Let's talk about this topic today.

Although this kind of hard alloy material can also be machined, its cutting efficiency is often unacceptable. This is mainly because:

(1) As mentioned earlier, processing hard alloy materials like titanium alloys requires high cutting forces or high-torque spindles. However, the spindle torque of the high-efficiency and high-speed CNC machine tools used by HEM-HSM for processing light alloy materials such as aluminum alloys is mostly less than 100Nm, and generally less than 200Nm. It lacks the ability to efficiently process titanium alloys and other hard alloy materials through cutting.

(2) As pointed out earlier, when processing hard alloy materials like titanium alloys, only a lower cutting speed is generally allowed, that is, only a lower spindle speed can be used. However, the spindle speed range of the high-efficiency and high-speed CNC machine tool adopted by HEM-HSM for processing light alloy materials such as aluminum alloys is not suitable for the existing processing technology requirements of titanium alloy materials. Therefore, new requirements have been put forward for the design and manufacture of several important CNC parts such as the structure, rigidity, dynamic characteristics, spindle and coordinate transmission, cooling system, tool-to-tool interface, and control system of the HEM-HSM CNC machining machine used for the processing of HEM-HSM titanium alloy materials.

Overall, titanium alloy CNC machining machines require a relatively high level of processing technology compared to other materials. However, in terms of processing, its outstanding advantages are irreplaceable by other CNC machining machines.
